jDubliner's O'Neill and Maur captain US Copa Wadsworth Team vs Mexico!
To say that Eoin O'Neill and Andre Maur are proud to be captains of the
USA
Copa team to play Mexico in Mexico City at the end of April is an
understatement. When Ken Stillman president of the USSRA called us up to
be Captains we both jumped at the prospect of leading the US. It's a
great honor and we do not take it likely.
Winning National titles and representing Ireland have been great
achievements of Andre and Eoin and this task is a great honor for both
of us and we hope to make the USSRA and US proud. This is the equivalent
like playing the Ryder Cup in golf and we are looking forward to
bringing back the Cup to America "It does not get any better than this".
Both O'Neill and Maur want this Copa Wadsworth to be the best ever. We
want to breed new blood into the Copa so we can continue this great
tournament between the two countries that George Wadsworth started. We
want to win the cup back that's why we are bringing a great mix of 25
players down to play singles and doubles.
Eoin O'Neill was previously the first head pro at The Pacific Athletic
Club
and had one of the best run squash programs in the California area. Eoin is currently Olympic Club Squash Champion and captain of the men's first team.
